Paper Notices that Garrett Isn't Really From New Jersey

In the Hudson Valley News:
The House members who joined Hinchey in sending the letter to Bush were: Congressman Sherwood Boehlert (R-NY), Congressman Michael Fitzpatrick (R-PA), Congressman Scott Garrett (R-NY), Congressman Tim Holden (D-PA), Congressman Rush Holt (D-NJ)
Apparently, others notice that Scott Garrett doesn't really represent us here in NJ's 5th. Now it's up to the voters to vindicate that impression at the voting booth.

And Paul Aronsohn isn't really from the 5th district, either. He moved here specifically to run for this seat. Why don't you ask him if he plans to stay if he doesn't win the election? I think I already know the answer.

I'm sorry I sound so harsh, but so far what I see our best opportunity to pick up this seat being squandered on an extraordinarily weak candidate who strikes me as a political opportunist who sees the 5th District as a stepping stone to the next Clinton Administration.

i have to disagree, jill, i've met paul aronsohn, i wonder if you have? he has a fire in his belly for this race, and while he's not technically from the 5th district, the man has lived in northern new jersey his entire life. he's lived in bergen county, where he grew up, and i don't think that the fact that he just moved specifically into the 5th district is a problem. he is not looking for a new job, he just quit his very lucrative job as a vp of pfizer to run against garrett in a really tough race. the guy didn't do this for the money. if you don't like his policies, fine, then don't vote for him. but if you don't like him cause he just moved into the district, you're beginning to sound like a republican.

You're entitled to your opinion, jill. I just wish it was an informed one. Try speaking directly with Paul some time. Stop in the office. Join him on his walk. Send him an email. He'll change your mind in an instant. There is no doubt in my mind that he's in this race to win.

Or try to get in touch with our current representative. I'm sure you'll get a nice form letter back from DC in a few weeks, as long as the administration tells him it's OK.

I hesitate to say it, mainly because I don't know your true motivations, but I never understand why some people make comments like yours. He's your candidate. Why bash him? Unless, of course, he isn't. If that's the case, thanks for your concern.
